1. Read about EFT:

What is EFT?
EFT (sometimes called “tapping”) is like an emotional form of acupuncture without needles. EFT launches off the discovery statement,

“All negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body’s energy system.”

We know from Chinese medicine that every human body has an energy system made up of different energy flows or meridians. More recently it has been discovered that this system can be healed by tapping specific points on the body connected to these energy flows.

Tapping on these points releases and clears negative emotional stress, trauma and limiting beliefs for good when done effectively. The very basic EFT process can be learned in just a few minutes and is very accessible to most people (check out my monthly free EFT basics workshop). However, for deeper more complex issues you will likely need individual sessions. Read about my specialties here.

What is the difference between EFT and talk therapy?
Traditional therapy tends to name your mental/emotional issues and bring awareness but requires a large amount of will power to make changes. EFT is a method that actually allows you to clear out these mental/emotional issues for good from your subconscious mind and energy system.

Imagine for a moment that your mind is like a messy house filled with traumas, negative emotions and beliefs, steadily piling up since birth.  Maybe you have been to therapy and it has allowed you to name and walk around some of the piles of old stuff but nothing has really helped clean the mess. EFT is a tool to clear it out deeply and effectively.

Does this seem too good to be true? I thought so the first time I heard about EFT. This all changed when I suspended my disbelief and tried it anyway. I soon began dissolving deep emotional issues from my past. For more details you can read my healing story. Also check out testimonials from other clients.

How does EFT work to heal these issues for good?

To do EFT you sequentially tap on a series of 9 well established energy points while focused on what bothers you from the present, past or anxiety about the future.  These emotional and mental changes tend to be permanent when the process is done deeply.

Negative emotions and beliefs are the result of a memory, trauma, belief system, or family pattern. EFT can clear these traumas and patterns in a simple, gentile way that does not re-traumatize you or require you to recount everything that happened in order to deeply heal the trauma, belief and issue.

Some people have heard that EFT is a self care technique only. I encourage everyone to learn EFT at the basic level and use it, this is why I provide so many free resources on this site as well as a free monthly workshop. However, EFT can be deceptively simple. To deeply heal and transform it is extremely important to get to the core of an issue and clear all the aspects of it. You can get major breakthroughs in just a few sessions even if you have tried to do EFT on your own without success.

If you are interested in EFT sessions please contact me. I offer all new clients a 15 minute free consultation.

“Even in the hands of most newcomers, EFT often achieves either noticeable improvements or complete cessation of the client’s problem. For those practitioners who learn the advanced [EFT] work, there are much higher success rates. Many skilled practitioners get measurable results over 80% of the time. In addition, the process is often rapid, long lasting and gentle and sometimes works when nothing else will.”  - Christopher Hegarty, Ph.D
(Alternative Medicine researcher/journalist and author)

2. How to: The EFT “tapping” technique

1. Print a 1 page intro to the basic EFT tapping process (pdf). This shows the points and gives an introduction to what we will be doing in your sessions.

2. View my You Tube video demonstrating the EFT “Basic Recipe” (Time 5:37). It is important to note that this video demonstrates the very basic use of the EFT tool only. You can heal much more complex issues than the one in the demonstration.

Tapping Points3. If you want to try it on your own before you have any sessions…

I. Go to the free EFT introductory workshop I offer once per month in Eugene (visit my events page here for details).
II. Read more about it and view videos on the national EFT website www.eftuniverse.com.

The key to success with EFT on your own is to be specific and persistent while trying it on any emotional or physical issue that is present for you.

If you want to do some work on your own I find it is most helpful to start by learning the basics of EFT directly from another person. The information on this site including the videos and “the basic EFT tapping process sheet” can get you started understanding what EFT is and what it looks like.

For really getting comfortable with the basic process I offer a free 90 minute EFT introductory workshop once per month in Eugene (go to my events page here for details). If you cannot attend a workshop I advise you to learn EFT in sessions with me or to purchase DVD’s that show extensively how to do EFT well on the national EFT website www.EFTUniverse.com.

If you are interested in EFT sessions please contact me. I offer all new clients a 15 minute free consultation.
